이은희 인하대 소비자학과 교수는 “구글 같은 글로벌 온/오프라인 산업자도 수입에만 신경쓰지, 문제가 발생했을 때 무난한 대처를 하지 않는 때가 많다”면서 “구글 소액결제 케이스가 늘어나고 있습니다면 구글이 가장 제일 먼저 할 일은 이런 일이 또 생성하지 않게 조치를 취하는 것”이라고 말했다.
‘소액결제 현금화 산업은 불법이다. 아이디어통신망법은 ‘통신과금서비스사용자로 하여금 통신과금서비스에 의하여 재화등을 구매·사용되도록 한 후 이용자가 구매·이용한 재화등을 할인해 매입하는 행위에 ‘7년 이하의 징역 또는 3천만원 이하의 벌금에 처되도록 규정하고 있다.
